Indian Market: Sensex falls 13.50 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex remained weak for the third straight session on Monday as it fell marginally by 13.50 pts to settle at 52,372.69 as selling was seen in Technology, Power, IT and Oil and Gas stocks.

The Nifty rose marginally by 2.80 pts to 15,692.60.

High volatility was seen during the day, as the Sensex jumped 248 pts to open at 52,634.33. It rallied by 414 pts to 52,700.51, days high.

Later, it tumbled down nearly 178 pts to 52,208.96, days low before closing at 52,372.69, easing by 13.50 pts from its previous close.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 52,700.51 and 52,208.96 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,789.20 and 15,644.75 pts respectively.

The sectoral indices like Technology, Power, IT and Oil and Gas stocks kept the market low today.

In scrips, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, Infosys and HDFC dropped.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.40 pc and Small Cap by 0.75 pc.

In 30 scrips, 16 advanced, 13 declined while one remained unchanged.
