Indian Market: Sensex down over 300 pts

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday slipped 366 pts at 55,559 in the opening session as selling was seen by Finance, Health Care, IT and Utilities stocks.

The Nifty too fell 92.50 pts at 16,568.90.

The sensex registered days high and low at 55,659.58 and 55,519.08 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 16,599.45 and 16,554.35 pts respectively.

The Mid cap moved up 0.02 pc and Small Cap by 0.12 pc.

In 30 scrips, 9 advanced while 21 declined.

The losers were Sun Pharma by 2.75 pc to Rs 863.65, Infosys by 2.08 pc to Rs 1495.80, Titan by 1.88 pc to Rs 2212.90, HDFC by 1.61 pc to Rs 2328.30 and TCS by 1.10 pc to Rs 3336.30.

The gainers were M& M by 0.60 pc to Rs 1803.85, Tata Steel by 0.55 pc to Rs 1055.20, NTPC by 0.36 pc to Rs 151.45 and Reliance Industries by 0.12 pc to Rs 6107.75.
