Hoichoi is bringing back Byomkesh in a bonus episode exclusively for fans
Kolkata, Feb 23 (IBNS): The Hoichoi original ‘Byomkesh’ which has been one of the most watched web series on the world’s largest digital Bengali entertainment content platform, is coming up with a bonus episode set to start streaming globally from Saturday, Feb 24 onwards.
The hour-long nail-biting episode on Hoichoi will see Anirban unlock the mystery behind the stolen Raktamukhi Neela, one of the most popular Byomkesh Bakshi stories created by the late litterateur Sharadindu Bandopadhyay.
Directed by Sayantan Ghosal and produced by SVF, the episode will, along with Anirban Bhattacharya, Subrat Dutta and Ridhima Ghosh in their usual roles, also see ArindolBagchi as Haripada, Maharaj’s secretary. Arindol Bagchi incidentally is not new to the ‘Byomkesh’ franchise – he has already acted in Dibakar Banerjee’s 2015 film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy and Anjan Dutt’s 2012 film Abar Byomkesh.
The bonus episode centres on RaktamukhiNeela or Blue Sapphire belonging to MaharajRamendraSingha, who possesses a collection of precious gems.
The emperor has just had his secretary Haripada killed and the blue sapphire stolen along with other jewellery in an armed heist at his palace some years ago.
Though the police subsequently arrested the supposed culprit, the RaktamukhiNeela was never recovered.
Now, as the Maharaj hands over the case to Byomkesh Bakshi, the adroit detective takes the case up, weaving through a maze of clues and catching the real culprit behind the murder and recovering the valuable blue sapphire.
