GRSE inks agreements with UAE and Egypt based companies at the IDEX 2021

Kolkata/IBNS: Defence public sector undertaking, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd, inked three agreements, one each with Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding Company, UAE, and two local companies from Egypt and UAE, at the recently concluded IDEX 21.

IDEX 2021 was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in February this year.

The participation was a step towards the realisation of maritime security and cooperation under the Security and Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR) plan of the central government.

According to the company, the participation was focused on showcasing GRSE’s shipbuilding prowess and exploring avenues for synergy and partnerships with the niche naval shipbuilding market in the Middle East.

Indian Ambassador, Pawan Kapoor, inaugurated India Pavilion at IDEX 2021 in the presence of CMD GRSE, DGNO Indian Navy Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, CMD BDL, Director (CP) MDL and other dignitaries from DRDO and OFB.

Visitors to the India Pavilion included Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan AI Nahyan, the Crown Prince of the Emirates of Abu Dhabi; Sheikh Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Qasimi from the royal family of the Ras Al Khaima; Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed, Interior Minister of UAE; Charalambos Petrides, Defence Minister, Republic of Cyprus; an Algerian delegation led by their Air Chief and Chief of Staff- Navy; Defence Attaché- Japan in UAE, among others.

A multidimensional company, GRSE said it has achieved more than 90 per cent indigenization on its recent projects of Anti-Submarine Corvettes and Landing Crafts.
