Mumbai, July 7 (IBNS): Godrej Industries has won the prestigious ‘CSR Health Impact Award 2017’ for its community initiative, Godrej EMBODE (Elimination of Mosquito Born Endemic Disease) under the category of Healthcare Support Initiative of the Year.

Vector-borne diseases are a major public health problem in India and Madhya Pradesh faces one of the highest cases of malaria in the country.

Godrej in partnership with Family Health India and local NGO’s in Madhya Pradesh worked together to reduce mortality by 100% and morbidity caused by vector borne diseases through information for and education of communities via behavior change communication.

Together so far they have reached out to 3000 villages impacting 35,00,000 people through training and volunteering programmes, chaupal sessions, nutrition support and mosquito repellent products supplies etc.

Vikas Goswami, Head, Good and Green and Godrej Industries and Associate Companies Ltd. received this award from Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways at a spectacular event held yesterday in New Delhi.
