Fuel prices increased again, 11th hike in past 13 days

New Delhi/UNI: Petrol and diesel prices were increased again on Sunday. According to the price notification of Indian Oil Corporation, petrol in Delhi petrol costs Rs 103.41 per litre and diesel Rs 94.67 per litre, an increase of 80 paise each. 

In Mumbai, a litre of petrol is available at Rs 118.41 per litre (an increase of 84 paise) while diesel is at Rs 102.64 per litre (an increase of 85 paise).

In Chennai, a litre of petrol costs Rs 108.96 while diesel is at Rs 99.04 (an increase of 76 paise).

In Kolkata, the price of a litre of petrol is Rs 113.03 (increased by 84 paise) while diesel is at Rs 97.82 (increased by 80 paise).

The fuel prices were on freeze since Nov 4, 2021, but the record 137 days hiatus ended on March 22 with an 80 paise per litre increase in rates of petrol and diesel.

The oil companies had been increasing the petrol and diesel prices since then except on March 24 and April 1, 2022.

This is the 11th hike in the past 13 days.
