BSE Sensex down over 200 pts

Mumbai/UNI: BSE Sensex on Monday slipped by 202 pts at 39,411.30 in the opening session, as selling was seen in Energy, Consumer Durable, Metal, Oil and Gas and Technology stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too fell by 73.10 pts to 11,569.30.

The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 39,880.38 and 39,338.97 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra-day high and low at 11,697.35 and 11,557.40 respectively.

The Mid Cap was up by 0.01 pc while Small Cap fell by 0.54 pc.

In 30 scrips, 10 advanced while 20 declined.

The losers were HCL Technologies by 2.38 pc to Rs 823.15, TCS by 1.77 pc to Rs 2617.65, Bajaj Auto by 1.59 pc to Rs 2840.55, Asian Paints by 1.36 pc to Rs 2182.90 and Sun Pharma by 1.02 pc to Rs 461.

The gainers were Indusind Bank by 4.08 pc to Rs 609.50, ICICI Bank by 3.86 pc to Rs 407.70, Bharti Airtel by 2.77 pc to Rs 445.60, NTPC by 1.20 pc to Rs 88.65 and Powergrid by 1.11 pc to Rs 172.90
