Banks to remain closed from August 19 to 23 in many states

New Delhi/IBNS: Banks will remain closed for five days with several regional and national holidays along with weekly-offs.

There are as many as five bank holidays between August 19 and August 23, 2021, including Muharram, Raksha Bandhan and Onam.

In many states like Tripura, Gujarat, Punjab Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, among others banks will remain closed due to Muharram on August 19.

The festival of Onam will be celebrated on August 20 (Friday). Banks in many southern states like Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu will remain closed in view of the festival.

On August 21, banks in Kerala will remain closed.

Since the next day is a Sunday, banks will remain closed on August 22:  Raksha Bandhan is also falling on the same day.

On August 23, banks will remain closed in Kerala due to Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi.
