New Delhi: On the second day of auctions under the 9th round and 8th round, three mines were put up for auctions for commercial mining, the Ministry of Coal said on Wednesday.

Out of the three mines, one is a coking coal mine and 2 are mines with non-coking coal reserves.

All 3 coal mines are partially explored mines having total geological reserves of 388.32 Million Tonnes and have received good competition among bidders.

Under the Coking Coal Mission, coking coal mines have also been included in auctions.

Domestic production of coking coal is important for the country to reduce imports.

The Baisi mine in Chhattisgarh, with 135.00 MT of non-coking coal reserve, was bagged by Indermani Mineral India Pvt Ltd.

JK Cement Ltd. won the bid for the West of Shahdol (South) Mine in Madhya Pradesh with non-coking coal reserves of 93.32 MT.

E-auction for the third mine under auction, Babupara East Mine in Jharkhand, with 160.00 MT of coking coal reserves, was underway at 6:30 pm when the statement was released.
