Sensex-Nifty Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Friday tumbled down 588.43 pts at 54,731.85 as selling was seen across the board.
The Nifty was slipped 162.40 pts at 16,315.70.
The sensex registered days high and low at 54,761.41 and 54,649.01 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered days high and low at 16,278.70 and 16,243.85 pts respectively.
The Mid cap declined 0.66 pc and Small Cap by 0.51 pc.
In 30 scrips, 2 advanced while 28 declined.
The losers were Wipro by 3.29 pc to Rs 459.45, Tata Steel by 2.38 pc to Rs 1020.45, Tech Mahindra by 2.21 pc to Rs 1113.60, Infosys by 2.06 pc to Rs 1483.35 and Kotak Bank by 1.72 pc to Rs 1853.85.
The gainers were NTPC by 0.58 pc to Rs 156.10, Titan by 0.24 pc to Rs 2144.50 and Maruti Suzuki by 0.09 pc to Rs 7932.45.
