Banks shut across India this Christmas week: check your state’s holiday dates

Mumbai/IBNS: Banks across India will observe public and regional holidays during the Christmas week, according to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) official holiday list, media reports said.

All banks nationwide will remain closed on December 25 for Christmas.

Certain northeastern states will observe additional regional bank holidays:

  • Aizawl, Kohima and Shillong: Closed on December 24 for Christmas Eve and December 26 for Christmas celebrations.
  • Kohima: Closed on December 27 for Christmas.
  • Shillong: Closed on December 30 on the occasion of the death anniversary of U Kiang Nangbah.
  • Aizawl and Imphal: Closed on New Year’s Eve or Imoinu Iratpa.
