Mumbai/UNI: The Indian Rupee on Monday rallied by 53 paise to close positive at 74.31 against the greenback on brisk selling of US Dollar by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The local unit that fell by three paise to 74.87 in opening trade, eased earlier losses and spurted by 53 paise to close high at 74.31 as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee rallied because of weak Dollar against other world currencies, dealers said.

The rupee registered intra days high and low at 74.92 and 74.27 respectively, he added.
