Axis Communications, known for their video network implementation, forays into eastern India

Kolkata/IBNS: Axis Communications, a company which offers intelligent security solutions, recently announced that it is expanding its business in Kolkata as well as eastern India.

Known for their network video implementations, the company forayed into the Kolkata market with two successful projects, one with Kolkata Police and the other with the sports stadium, Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan during the U-17 FIFA World Cup.

The project with Kolkata Police involved surveillance and traffic management in the city.

Highlighting their entry into the eastern region, the company, in a recent online event, showcased their integrated smart solutions in IP Audio, Radar Technology, Network Cameras, and Thermal cameras.

Talking the company’s association with Kolkata Police, Sudhindra Holla, Director - India SAARC, Axis Communications said, “We are proud to be a partner of choice for the Kolkata Police city-wide project. We have 800+ camera installations across the city to track, monitor, and analyze the video feed for detecting criminal activities, traffic violations, and road conditions.” 

The company, in a recent release said that with the Central government’s smart city projects gaining momentum, there is a dire need of new age IP Video integrated end to end solutions to deliver high business value.

The company quoted the IHS 2019 India report as saying the global video surveillance market is expected to grow from USD 588 millionto USD 1.5 billion by 2023, at a CAGR of 18.3 per cent; Network Cameras is expected to grow from USD 225 million to USD 605 million at a CAGR of 26.6 per cent

The increasing concerns about public safety and security, growing adoption of IP cameras, and rising demand for wireless and spy cameras are the factors driving the growth of the video surveillance industry, the company mentioned in its release.

According to the company, some of the major smart city implementations include Karnal, Aurangabad, Bhavnagar, Kolhapur and Junagadh.

In the retail and hospitality segments, Axis’ smart implementation includes Café Coffee Day and Novotel Goa Shrem Hotels, respectively.

One of the prominent installations by the company in the education segment is Dayalbagh Educational Institute.

The company also said that it implemented the surveillance system at the famous heritage site, the Mysore Palace, among many others.

In its recent release, the company said it has successfully implemented the surveillance system at the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar, a super specialty hospital of 2,000 beds; this is said to be the largest surveillance system deployment in any healthcare facility in India.

Axis is present in more than 50 countries, supported by a global network of over 90,000 partners, according to the company.
