Islamabad: Two Pakistani soldiers were killed as suspected terrorists from across the border, inside Afghanistan, attacked a military post in Dwatoi, North Waziristan on Wednesday, media reports said.

“Own troops responded in a befitting manner. During an exchange of fire, 2 soldiers, Havaldar Saleem, age 43 years, and Lance Naik Pervaiz, age 35 years, embraced shahadat,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) was quoted as saying by Geo News.

“Pakistan strongly condemns the continuous use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan,” read the statement issued by ISPR.

The incident happened at a time when foreign forces are slowly moving out of Afghanistan.
