Key Al-Qaeda terrorist reappears in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan

| @indiablooms | Aug 23, 2021, at 11:57 pm

Kabul:  Al-Qaeda terrorist Khalil Haqqani, who is one of the most wanted terrorists in America, has appeared in Kabul as Taliban leaders gather to decide the future of the war-torn nation.

Haqqani has a $5million bounty on his head.

Al-Qaeda terrorist Khalil Haqqani pledged a new era for Afghanistan as he was seen leading prayers for Taliban fighters at a mosque in the Afghan capital on Friday in front of cheering fans, reports The Sun.

The Haqqanis have been blamed for some of the deadliest terror attacks across the world in recent years, claiming the lives of civilians, government officials and foreign forces, the newspaper reported.

On August 15, the Taliban entered Kabul.

President Ashraf Ghani resigned and fled the country to prevent what he described as bloodshed that would occur if militants stormed the city.

Many countries have since started evacuating their citizens and diplomatic personnel from Afghanistan.

Anti-Taliban demonstrations are taking place in different parts of the globe.
