At least four people were burnt to death and several others injured on Friday after two vehicles collided and caught fire in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, police said.

According to the police, the fatal crash happened early in the morning in Khuzdar district of the province when two speeding vehicles carrying fuel collided, resulting in the eruption of fire.

Following the unfortunate incident, police and rescue teams doused the blaze and reached the area. Rescue teams shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

Police said the accident occurred due to negligence of the drivers, adding that further investigation into the matter is underway.

Road accidents frequently happen in Pakistan due to poorly maintained roads, violation of safety rules, and reckless driving.
