Two brothers allegedly shot dead their sister in Pakistan's Dhakki area, police said on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson told Dawn News that station house officer Samar Abbas filed a report that he came to know about an incident on Feb 20, 2024, in which a woman named Shaheen Bibi daughter of Sharif Kumhar was allegedly shot with a pistol by her brothers namely Shakeel and Aqeel.

Police said their investigation found that the woman was divorced by her husband named Javed Baloch on Feb 18 due to a domestic dispute.

Her brothers reportedly planned to kill her after she returned to her father's house.

Police said the motive behind the killing is still not known.

Police said the brothers buried the deceased to pretend that the death was natural.

One media report claimed the brothers shot dead her for honour.
