Rohit Sharma, spinners help India beat South Africa by 73 runs to clinch series

Cape Town, Feb 14 (IBNS): Creating history, Virat Kohli and his men defeated South Africa by 73 runs in the fifth ODI of the series to clinch the series for the first time in the 'Rainbow Nation' on Tuesday.

After posting 274 runs for the loss of seven wickets, India bowled out South Africans for 201 runs.

South African openers tried to create some resistance up in the top with Hashim Amla (71) and skipper Aiden Markram (32) adding 52 runs.

It was Jasprit Bumrah who dismissed the skipper to give India the first break through.

David Miller (36) and Heinrich Klaasen (39) could not convert the start they got initially.

It was Indian wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav (4-57),

Yuzvendra Chahal (2-43) once again showed their magic with the ball.

Hardik Pandya bowled economically as he picked up two wickets by giving away only 30 runs in his nine overs.

Earlier, it was another sensational 115 runs knock by Rohit Sharma that helped India post 274 runs on the scorecard.

Rohit  and hammered  11 boundaries and four sixes in his knock.

Skipper Virat Kohli added 36 runs with his willow.

South Africa's Lungi Ngidi picked up four wickets.

India are now 4-1 up in the series.
