La Liga: Messi's four goals help Barcelona beat Eibar 6-1

Madrid, Sep 20 (IBNS): Football icon Lionel Messi's four goals powered Barcelona to thrash Eibar to stay at the top of the ranking in La Liga on Wednesday, media reports said.

Barcelona defeated Eibar 6-1.

Messi, who was the anchor in Barcelona's win, has kicked the ball to the nets four times while the two other goals were scored by Paulinho and D Suárez.

Messi was the first to score a goal for Barcelona with a penalty.

Enrich scored the lone goal of Eibar at 57 minutes of the match.

Barcelona is currently leading the league with 15 points from five matches.

In another match on Wednesday, Valencia defeated Malaga 5-0.
