We expect Babar Azam to fight till last ball in semi-final clash against New Zealand: Imran Khan
Islamabad: Pakistan's 50 over World Cup winning skipper Imran Khan wished Babar Azam as his team is facing New Zealand in the T20 World Cup semi-finals here on Wednesday.
"Wishing Babar Azam and his team prayers and best wishes from the nation. All we expect from you is to fight till the last ball," Khan tweeted.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan in the first semi final of the T20 World Cup 2022 at Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on Wednesday.
Both the teams are playing with the same squad from their respective last matches.
The winning team will face either India or England, who are set for the semi final 2 clash on Thursday, in the tournament final.
New Zealand playing XI: Finn Allen, Devon Conway(w), Kane Williamson(c), Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult.
Pakistan playing XI: Mohammad Rizwan(w), Babar Azam(c), Mohammad Haris, Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi.
