US Open: Roger Federer crashes out after Grigor Dimitrov beat him in quarter-finals

New York, Sept 4 (IBNS):  Grigor Dimitrov created a major upset in the US Open on Wednesday when he defeated former champion Roger Federer to make him crash out of the tournament here.

Grigor defeated the five-time champion 3-6, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Roger crashed out of the tournament after a strong show by the opposition in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Grigor will now face Russian fifth seed Daniil Medvedev in the semi-final clash of the tournament.

He reached the last-four stage of the tournament by beating Stan Wawrinka in four sets.
