T20 World Cup: Riding on Virat Kohli's crucial 57, India post 151/7 against Pakistan

Dubai: Virat Kohli's crucial 57 runs knock and Rishabh Pant's quickfire 39 helped India score 151 runs for the loss of seven wickets in a high-voltage T20 World Cup clash between India and Pakistan here on Sunday.

India lost wickets at regular intervals which kept the match in a balanced situation.

Pakistani bowlers remained tight and Shaheen Shah Afridi took three crucial wickets, including Rohit Sharma (0) and Virat Kohli, to give India a tough competition.

He also took the wicket of opener KL Rahul (0) in the clash.

However, he gave away 17 runs in his final over which helped India go past 150 runs mark at the end.

Kohli remained the shining spot in the lineup as he fixed the situation after India lost few quick wickets.

He hammered five boundaries and a six in the knock and added 53 runs with Pant to help India comeback into the match.

After Pant departed, Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja (13) contributed 41 runs together.

Hitting two boundaries, Hardik Pandya added 11 important runs at the end for India.

Hasan Ali gave away 44 runs in his four overs but picked up two wickets.

Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf took a wicket each.
