Shivnarine Chanderpaul appointed as USA women's cricket head coach

Los Altos/UNI: Former West Indies captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul has been appointed as the head coach of the USA national and Under-19 women’s teams, the USA Cricket board said.

Chanderpaul has signed a one and a half year contract until the end of 2023.

He will begin his role immediately as the Under-19 team has departed for the Caribbean on Sunday for the West Indies Under-19 Rising Stars T20 Championship, which will be held in Trinidad and Tobago from July 5-13, the cricket board said on Sunday.

The Guyanese player is currently the head coach of the Jamaica Tallawahs in the 2022 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and most recently, has served as the batting consultant of the West Indies U19 men’s team.
