Proud of what you achieved: Wife Sakshi writes after Dhoni announces retirement

Mumbai/IBNS: As Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket leaving scores of fans emotional, his wife Sakshi Singh Dhoni has penned a heartfelt note for India's World Cup-winning captain on her Instagram account.

In her post, she noted how proud she was with her husband's achievements and shared an image of Dhoni looking at a sunset.

"You should be proud of what you have achieved. Congratulations on giving your best to the game. I am proud of your accomplishments and the person you are! I am sure you must have held those tears to say goodbye to your passion. Wishing you health, happiness and wonderful things ahead," Sakshi wrote.

She also quoted Maya Angelou in her Instagram post: "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

Dhoni, on the day of India's 74th Independence Day, took to Instagram to share a collage of pictures capturing various moments of his illustrious career with the song of Mukesh playing in the background.
