Mary Kom beats Hanna Okhota in Women's World Championship, clinches gold

New Delhi, Nov 24 (IBNS): Creating history, Indian boxer Mary Kom clinched a gold in the Women's World Championship by beating Ukraine's Hanna Okhota at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.

She has won in the women's 48kg light flyweight final of the championships by a unanimous decision of 5-0.

Mary had earlier won gold medals in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010 editions of the championships.

Following her win, Mary said as she has been quoted by NDTV, "I want to thank the fans who turned up today to cheer me and the Indian contingent. They have been supporting me for last many years."
