Kings XI Punjab beat Barbados in CL T20 clash

Mohali, Sept 20 (IBNS): Kings XI Punjab continued its momentum from the Indian Premier League to beat Barbados Tridents by four wickets in a Champions League T20 match here on Saturday.

Chasing Trident's 174 for six, the hosts reached the target 178 by losing six wickets with two balls to spare.

Akshar Patel played a blistering knock of 9-ball 23 and David Miller's unbeaten 34-ball 46 helped the side the reach the target at the end.

Miller hit three boundaries and two sixes in his knock.

Indian hard-hitting batsman Virender Sehwag (31) and

Manan Vohra (27) added 41 runs in the first wicket partnership to give Kings a strong start to their innings.

Ravi Rampaul and Jeevan Mendis took two wickets each for Tridents .

Earlier, Tridents posted 174 for six in their 20 overs.

Raymon Reifer was the top scorer for the side with his 60 while opener Dilshan Munaweera added 50 runs with his willow.

Parvinder Awana picked up three wickets for Kings.

In the other match of the day, Perth Scorchers beat Dolphins by six wickets.

Chasing Dolphins 164 for seven, Perth reached 165 by losing four wickets.
