James Anderson omitted from England squad for India series

London, Oct 26 (IBNS): Cricketer James Anderson will miss out on the India series when the England team tours the nation next month.

Anderson has been left out due to a shoulder injury.

"James Anderson has been omitted while he recovers from a shoulder injury although it is hoped he will still play some part in the series," the ECB website reported.

"England will play five Tests in India, starting in Rajkot on 9 November, hoping to emulate the famous series win in 2012," accoding to the website.

England squad: Alastair Cook (captain), Moeen Ali, Zafar Ansari, Jonny Bairstow, Jake Ball, Gary Ballance, Gareth Batty, Stuart Broad, Jos Buttler, Ben Duckett, Steven Finn, Haseeb Hameed, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes.
