Isaac Chansa joins Indian Super League side

New Delhi, Aug 13 (IBNS) Libero Sports client and Zambian International Isaac Chansa has signed with Shillong Lajong FC for the 2014-2015 I-league season.

Chansa will feature in the Indian Super League for Guwahati based franchise, North East United FC.

Chansa played a major role in his country’s 2012 African Cup of Nations win and will be the Marquee Player for ShillongLajong FC.

A box to box midfielder, Chansa is known for his quick feet and technical ability and has represented the Zambian National Team on several occasions.

Before his move to Shillong Lajong FC, he played for Zambian Premier League side Zanaco FC last season. Chansa also has the experience of representing big teams such as Helsingborgs IF in the Swedish Top Division and Orlando Pirates in the South African Premier Soccer League.

Chansa was also bought by Chinese Super League Side Henan Jianye FC from Orlando Pirates for a transfer fee of over $1 million in 2012.

After having signed on the dotted line, Chansa was quoted as saying, “I am happy and look forward to this new challenge. I will do my best to contribute in the team’s success in any way I can and repay the faith shown in me by the team management.”

Larsing Ming, General Secretary of ShillongLajong Football Club said, “We are delighted with the signing of Isaac Chansa and thank Libero Sports who facilitated the transfer. I am confident that Isaac will be a leader within the team and help us achieve our goals for the upcoming season”.

Sukhvinder Singh, Managing Director,  Libero Sports India, is confident of Issac’s performance in the upcoming leagues.

“Isaac will be a great addition to North East United FC & Shillong Lajong. With his vast experiences internationally, he will help both teams in their quest for winning titles on all fronts,: Singh said.
