Champions Trophy 2025: Bangladesh win toss, elect to bat first against India

Dubai/IBNS: Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and elected to bat first against India in the Champions Trophy 2025 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Thursday.

India, who are buoyant by the ODI series win against England at home recently, have introduced two changes to their side from the last match they had played.

Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Shami replaced Varun Chakaravarthy and Arshdeep Singh, said India captain Rohit Sharma at the toss.

India's matches are being played in Dubai as the South Asian team refused to travel to the host nation Pakistan over their strained bilateral ties.

Pakistan are the defending champions of the mega ICC tournament, which they won last in 2017.

The South Asian cricket giant lifted the trophy defeating India in the Champions Trophy 2017 final.

The tournament kickstarted on Wednesday with the Pakistan-New Zealand clash in Karachi.

The Black Caps made it four wins in a row against the hosts in Champions Trophy meetings, with an emphatic 60-run win in Karachi.

The Mitchell Santner-led side are off to a sizzling start in the Champions Trophy 2025, beating hosts Pakistan with a sensational overall performance, powered by centuries from Will Young and Tom Latham.
