| @indiablooms | Sep 14, 2025, at 08:00 pm

Pakistan on Sunday won the toss and opted to bat first in a high-intensity clash of the Asia Cup, the first encounter between the two squads since the April-May standoff following the Pahalgam encounter.

Even before the heightened tension and border escalation this year, bilateral series between the warring neighbours had remained suspended.

Both sides are placed in Group A of the Asia Cup.

The match is scheduled to be played in Dubai.

The two squads

India (Playing XI): Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav(c), Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson(w), Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy

Pakistan (Playing XI): Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Haris(w), Fakhar Zaman, Salman Agha(c), Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Sufiyan Muqeem, Abrar Ahmed
