West Bengal: BJP holds law violation programme in Jalpaiguri

Kolkata/Jalpaiguri, Dec 18 (IBNS): Protesting against the deteriorating law and order situation, misrule as well as violence against women in the state, the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a law violation programme in Jalpaiguri district on Friday.

The programme was held under the leadership of newly selected party's national secretary Rahul Sinha.

Huge number of BJP supporters attempted to break the police-barricades.

The protesters clashed and allegedly pelted bricks and stones at the police and the Rapid Action Force (RAF).

Police restored to lathicharge and lobbed tear-gas shells to disperse protesters.

Few BJP supporters and policemen were reportedly injured in the clash.

Agitating  on the same issue, the BJP held law violation programme at several locations across the state in the past two days.

BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh was injured on Thursday in a clash with police during law violation at Barasat in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district.
