Kolkata, May 20 (IBNS) Completing four years in the office, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said her government has delivered its best performance and fulfilled the commitments to the people of the state.

"Today our government completes 4 years in office. In spite of the legacy of the huge debt burden left by the previous government, so many hurdles, financial constraints... we have delivered our best and fulfilled our commitments to the people of Bengal," she wrote in her Facebook page.

"During the last four years, several of schemes/projects of Bengal and our performance have won acclaim of International Organisations like World Bank, United Nations, UNICEF, DFID and so on. Many of the schemes have got national recognition and have been recommended as models for other states to follow," she said.

With the Assembly polls scheduled to be held next year, the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) gained momentum as the party posted a strong result in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections and the 91 civic bodies in West Bengal while the Left Front managed to hold the second spot, ahead of the Congress and the BJP.

In Kolkata, the TMC has won or established a lead in 114 wards out of 144 while the Left Front managed 15 seats.
