Vigil along Pakistan border heightened following Punjab terror attack: Rajnath Singh

Bhopal, Jul 27 (IBNS) India tightened security along the border with Pakistan on Monday after heavily armed Pakistani terrorists stormed a police station in Punjab, killing several people, including six policemen.
The terrorists sneaked into India crossing border in Jammu and travelled 85 km to Punjab's Gurudaspur in a hijacked car before going on a rampage.
 
. Union home minister Rajnath Singh  said, "We are conducting an inquiry into the attack and BSF has been instructed to enhance vigil along the entire international border". 

He said that the  operation against terrorists in  Punjab will be successful.
 
"I am very confident that the operation has been successfully launched and situation is under control", informed the home minister at Bhopal airport before heading for Neemuch to attend the CRPF Raising Day function. 

Singh spoke to Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal on the matter and is in close contact with national security adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval, director general of Border Security Force (BSF) D K Pathak and union home secretary L C Goyal.
