Two hardcore ULFA(I) militants apprehended in Sonitpur

Guwahati, June 24 (IBNS): Two hardcore militants belonging to United Liberation Front Of Asom (Independent) were apprehended by security forces in Assam's Sonitpur district on Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, Sonitpur police had launched an operation at Hatibandhia Rajabari area under Gohpur police station in northern Assam district on Tuesday night and nabbed the militant duo.

Assam police CPRO Rajiv Saikia said the he nabbed militants were identified as Babul Das and Mohan Bora.

Police recovered one AK - 47 rifle with magazine, two grenades, six rounds ammunition in possession from them.
