Toll gate vandalized in Assam

Guwahati, May 16 (IBNS) : Protesters of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samittee (KMSS) on Saturday damaged a toll gate at NH-31 near Bijni in Chirang district of lower Assam.

According to reports, hundreds of protesters of the organization vandalized the toll gate and set on fire in a office of the gate.

The protesters also beaten employees of the toll gate.

"KMSS has protested against the toll gates in the state where employees had collected excess money from trucks and other vehicles, which is illegal, " Raju Bora, President, KMSS said.

Later, Chirang police took the situation under control.
