TMC suspends two leaders

Kolkata, Jun 29 (IBNS): The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday suspended two MLAs for violating party discipline.

The secretary general of TMC Partha Chatterjee told IBNS that Haldia MLA Siuli Saha and Barrackpore MLA Shilbhadra Dutta have been suspended from the party till pending enquiry.

"They were not attending party meetings for the last few months. So, we have decided to suspend them for violating party discipline," Chatterjee said.

Siuli Saha and Shilbhadra Dutta are known as the close-aides of TMC leader Mukul Roy and they both were present at the iftar party arranged by him.

Opposition parties' leaders are saying that the two MLAs are suspended as they joined Mukul Roy's iftar party.

However, Partha Chatterjee denied that allegation.

Meanwhile, Siuli Saha and Shilbhadra Dutta told IBNS that they did not receive any suspension letter from the party yet and after receiving the letter they would react on it.
