Slum demolition: Arvind Kejriwal meets Suresh Prabhu

New Delhi, Dec 14 (IBNS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday met Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu over an alleged anti-encroachment drive by the Railway Police which saw the demolition of almost 500 shanties in West Delhi's Shakur Basti.

Kejriwal earlier visited the demolished area  where allegedly a child had died during the process.

Youth Congress workers also protested against the Railway Minister over the issue.

Congress vice -president Rahul Gandhi said both the central and the Delhi government are to be blamed for the incident.

Rahul Gandhi posted on his official Twitter handle, "Modi sarkar and Kejriwal sarkar are responsible for what has happened here. #ShakurBasti. "

He said, "Instead they should provide help to the people who have been displaced & rehabilitate them."

In his rebuttal, Kejriwal said, "Rahul is still a kid and maybe no one from his party has informed him that the Railway belongs to the central government and not the state."
