Seven women from Assam die in Nepal

Guwahati, Apr 27 (IBNS) : At least seven women from Assam have died in earthquake-hit Nepal , officials said on Monday.

All of them are from Guwahati city in the state and they had went to Nepal for pilgrimage.

The deceased persons were identified as Hemaprabha Saikia, Bhanita Deka, Joyshree Bora, Bhumika Das, Rima Das, Kalpana Adhikary and Padmawati Mazumdar. Their bodies are likely to be brought to Guwahati on Tuesday.

A top official of the Assam government said that 72 people, who went to Nepal from the state, are still untraceable.
