Salman tweets in support of Yakub, Salim disagrees with son
Mumbai, July 26 (IBNS): Hours after Salman Khan tweeted in support of Yakub Memon, who is convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, his father Salim Khan on Sunday called the Bollywood actor "ignorant" of the issue and asked people to not take him seriously.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Salim Khan said: "Whatever Salman has written is ridiculous and meaningless. Salman is ignorant of the issue and people should not take him seriously."
On Yakub's punishment, Salim said, "Yakub should be kept in jail rather be hanged. Keeping him alive is a bigger punishment."
This comes after Salman Khan has raised his voice in support of Yakub Memon and said his brother Tiger Memon should be paraded and hanged instead.
The Supreme Court upheld Yakub's death sentence and refused to reconsider its decision following a petition by him.
Yakub Memon will be hanged on July 30.
"Hang tiger. Brother is being hanged for tiger. Aarrre Whr (where) is tiger?" tweeted Salman.
