Raipur church attack: 7 arrested, Rijiju promises punishment

New Delhi/Raipur, Mar 7 (IBNS) Seven people were arrested by police in connection with the Raipur church attack on Sunday.

MoS Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju was quoted in the media as saying, "Action has been taken. The guilty will be punished."

Earlier it was reported than a group of men entered a church in Chhattisgarh capital Raipur's Kachna area on Sunday and allegedly vandalised it.

The attackers allegedly entered the church during a prayer service and beat up the worshipers including women.

An eye witness told media that the attackers were raising  "Jai Shri Ram" slogans.

An FIR was lodged in connection with the case.
