Mumbai, Feb 16 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday attacked Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and said he has become the 'principal misleader' of Indian politics.

"Rahul Gandhi instead trying to be a leader has become the principal misleader of Indian politics," BJP leader MJ Akbar said.

Akbar made the remark as he referred to Gandhi's remarks on the JNU incident where he accused the ruling party was muzzling the youth by branding them as "anti-nationals".

"His remarks is a proof of his willingness to twist the truth," Akbar said.

"Where is your nationalism?," Akbar asked Gandhi on his remarks on JNU row.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)  is currently facing protests and counter protests with the police cracking down on students over the anti-India slogans raised earlier to mark the death anniversary of Parliament Attack convict Afzal Guru on its campus in the national capital.

JNU teachers, students and media persons were allegedly attacked by lawyers in New Delhi's Patiala Court on Monday.

The incident occurred before arrested JNU students union president Kanhaiya Kumar's was to be presented in the court.

Kanhaiya Kumar was earlier arrested on sedition charges.
