PM Modi reaches UAE, meets leaders

Abu Dhabi, Aug 16 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the UAE as he commenced his two-day official visit to the country from Sunday.


The Prime Minister was received by  Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi at the airport.

Thanking Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, he said: "I deeply appreciate kind gesture of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who received me at the airport."

Modi said he is 'optimistic' about his visit to the Asian nation.

"Hello UAE. I am very optimistic about this visit. I am confident the outcomes of the visit will boost India-UAE ties," Modi tweeted.

Modi visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi on the first day of his visit.

"With HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan & HE Dr. Anwar Gargash at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. #Selfie," Modi tweeted.

On Monday, PM Modi will go to the Dubai Cricket Stadium, where he will address about 50,000 Indians.
