New Delhi, Aug 17 (IBNS): In a crucial verdict in the Nitish Katara murder case, the Supreme Court on Monday upheld conviction of Vikas Yadav, Vishal Yadav and Sukhdev Pehalwan.

Vikas and Vishal Yadav are undergoing 25 years imprisonment while Pehalwan  was sentenced for 20 years.

The Delhi High Court earlier this year rejected the plea for death sentence to Vikas and Vishal Yadav.

Vikas along with his cousin Vishal Yadav and Sukhdev Pehelwan are now serving life term for abducting and killing Katara.

Katara was a business executive and the son of an IAS officer. The trio had abducted murdered him on the night of February 16-17, 2002 as they opposed Katara’s affair with Bharti, daughter of DP Yadav.
