Kolkata/UNI: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo, Mamata Banerjee, Saturday appealed to individuals, organisations and political parties to join forces to "defeat the BJP and their divisive agenda".

Taking to Twitter, Banerjee said, "As I prepare for my maiden visit to Goa on 28th, I call upon all individuals, organisations and political parties to join forces to defeat the BJP and their divisive agenda. "

"The people of Goa have suffered enough over the last 10 years. Together, we will usher in a new dawn for Goa by forming a new govt that will truly be a govt of the people of Goa and committed to realising their aspirations! #GoenchiNaviSakal, " she said.

On Friday, the TMC chief appointed former Goa Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro as national vice-president of the party.

The 70-year-old politician, a four-time CM of Goa, joined the TMC late last month.

TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said in a statement, "In a political career spanning over four decades, former Goa CM Luizinho Faleiro has worked ardently towards the development of people.

"We have full faith that under his able guidance AITC will reach greater heights and continue the fight to protect every Indian citizen democratic rights."

Mamata Banerjee, who is visiting North Bengal on Oct 24, will fly to Goa on 28th of the same month from Bagdogra.

She will be in Goa for four days and return to Kolkata on Nov 1.
