Libya: At least 37 dead as US air raids ISIS base

| | Feb 20, 2016, at 03:04 am
Tripoli, Feb 19 (IBNS) The US air raided an ISIS camp on Friday leaving at least 37 dead, reports said.
CNN quoted Sabratha Mayor Hussien al-Thawadi as saying, "Friday morning's U.S. strike in the al-Qasser district in Sabratha, a coastal city in northwestern Libya where most residents are from Tunisia, killed at least 37 people and wounded six others."

Among the leaders in the base was Noureddine Chouchane, a senior ISIS operative.

Chouchane is believed to have masterminded two attacks in Tunisia last year, which left at least 61 people dead and injured several others.

It is not clear though if he was among the 37 who died in the air raid.
