Lalit Modi claims to meet Priyanka Gandhi, Robert Vadra in London hospital

New Delhi, June 26 (IBNS): Former IPL chief Lalit Modi has claimed that he had run into Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi and her husband Robert Vadra at a restaurant in London few years ago.

Lalit Modi tweeted: "Happy to meet the Gandhi Family in London. I had run into Robert and Priyanka separately in a restaurant - they were with Timmy Sarna. He has my no. They can call me. Will tell them what I feel about them exactly. Will mince no words. Will make no deal. But tell them witch hunt will now make them realize I was..If I remember correctly it was last year and the year before. Doubt either reported it to anyone. They were in power then."

The Congress said Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadra never interacted with Lalit Modi.

Speaking to media, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said: "I can say that Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadra never interacted with Lalit  Modi socially. If someone sees another person in a restaurant then it is neither wrong nor a crime."

BJP leader Sambit Patra told media: "We will like to ask that why Gandhi family is in constant touch of Lalit Modi?"

The government has been under attack of the Congress for allegedly trying to shield Lalit Modi.  The Congress has also demanded the resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for their alleged links with the former cricket administrator, who the party says is a "fugitive."

However, the BJP has rallied behind its two senior leaders saying the charges brought against both of them are "baseless."

Party's heavyweight leader and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that there is "nobody tainted," making it apparent that no move is likely to be taken to probe the allegations against Swaraj and Raje.
