Kolkata: Fire in godown brought under control

Kolkata, Sept 23 (IBNS): The fire, which broke out in a electric goods' godown, at Ganesh Chandra Avenue under Bowbazar Police Station area in Kolkata on Wednesday, has been brought under control.

The fire was first seen inside the godown which is located in the ground floor of a four-storey building near Hind Cinema hall.

As many as 5 fire engines, police and Disaster Management Group (DMG)'s personnel rushed to the spot and fire fighters fought for hours to bring the flames under control.

No casualty was reported in the incident so far.

One fire official told IBNS: "We have started an investigation to know the exact reason of the fire. But after primary investigation we are suspecting that the fire might have been started due to short-circuit."
