Kanhaiya Kumar trending in Twitter after fiery speech, leaders shower praise

New Delhi, Mar 4 (IBNS) Kanhaiya Kumar, who was arrested on sedition charges in February and was released from Tihar Jail on Thursday on an interim bail, has garnered a lot of support from many quarters, especially after his fiery "azadi" speech made at the JNU campus on Thursday night, targetting the Modi government and the Prime Minister himself.
A look at the twitter community shows Kanhaiya Kumar and his ''azadi' speech has elicited remarks from across society.
 
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal responded to Kanhaiya's speech on Thursday night by tweeting "Heard Kanhaiya's speech many times. Amazing clarity of thought expressed wonderfully.He said wat [what] most people have been feeling.God bless him."
 
Earlier he had tweeted (in Hindi) that he had asked Modi-ji not to challenge the students but he did not listen.
 
Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh tweeted "Kanhaiya has emerged as an Icon among students. Thank you Delhi Police and Rajnath ji."
 
On Thursday night, veteran journalist Pritish Nandy had tweeted "All those who thought Kanhaiya Kumar and the JNU students were anti-nationals, must listen to him speak. This is the voice of the new India." 
 
Later he added "Watch, Kanhaiya Kumar's inspiring speech will reverberate in campuses all over the world. This is the voice of #Azaadi. A leader is born!"
 
Sitaram Yechury, veteran Communist leader and general secretary of CPI-M said on twitter "Lal Salam Comrade Kanhaiya" and added (in Hindi) that the future of free India lies in the hands of [Kanhaiya's] generation.
 
Sirish Kunder, film maker, tweeted "To give the devil his due, must say, BJP has an eye for talent. They've launched a new Hero: #KanhaiyaKumar."
 
Tweeted Chetan Bhagat, "Hardik Patel, Kanhaiya Kumar - youth desperate for new leader who can relate to them, talks to them and takes questions. Why govt doesn't?
 
Congress leader Milind Deora said on twitter "Don't miss the forest for the trees -- #KanhaiyaKumar's speech isn't about oratory. It's about standing up to spin, distortion & lies."
 
Sanjay Jha of the Congress even compared Kanhaiya Kumar with Che Guevara and tweeted" #KanhaiyaKumar is now like the legendary Che Guevara ; a young man who symbolizes a new young irrepressible India that believes in itself."
