New Delhi, July 20 (IBNS) Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Monday met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the murder of a young girl who was stabbed protesting sexual assault and said the talk was conducted with the AAP supremo in a 'professional way'.

"The talk with CM Kejriwal was done in a professional way, keeping in view the law of the land," Bassi told reporters.

Bassi said any incident of crime is seen as a challenge.

He said : "We take it as a responsibility to provide justice to the victim."

According to reports, Bassi, who reports to the union home ministry, was asked by the Delhi government to bring along four lists for the meeting.

A list of pending cases of crimes against women and one of beat constables across the city were among them, NDTV citing sources reported.

Ahead of the meeting, Bassi said that there is no need for implementing AAP's demand for bringing Delhi Police under the city government.

Bassi was summoned by Kejriwal after nineteen-year-old Minakshi was brutally stabbed to death allegedly by two brothers living in her neighbourhood in central Delhi's Anand Parbat area for protesting their verbally abusing her on July 16.

Speaking on Kejriwal's criticisms about the police force, Bassi, earlier in the day, told reporters that he takes criticisms in positive manner. He asserted that his police force is accountable only to the system and not to any individual.

Kejriwal had urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into his demand seriously, alleging that law and order situation in the capital was "on a decline".

"I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi with folded hands that the . He has to run the complete country. I am not saying Delhi Police officials are wrong. They are very good people and are working but the system is bad. Even Police officials themselves are frustrated with this and no improvement is happening," he had claimed.
