Congress releases Vasundhara Raje's signed statement for Lalit Modi

New Delhi, June 24 (IBNS): Adding more troubles for Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, the Congress on Wednesday released a copy of an affidavit signed by her which favoured former IPL chief Lalit Modi's immigration application.

"The curtains are off, the secret is out, now Vasundhara Raje's signature have been authenticated," Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said in a press conference.

"Rajasthan CM lied time and again, first she said that she doesn't know about the documents, and now her signature is validated," he said.

Demanding Raje's resignation, he said:"Rajasthan CM has not only violated laws and has also lied, she should resign immediately."

At the centre of a raging controversy involving the BJP bigwigs who reportedly helped him travel in Europe, Lalit Modi had earlier said he was taken to task by the former UPA government for no reason though even some ministers of that government had helped him, a claim that was denied by the leaders he named.

Besides External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje had helped former IPL commissioner's  application for immigration to the UK in 2011 too, said reports.
